Typically a due date if figured as a 40 week pregnancy. A full term pregnancy would be considered anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks.

“Worked out the math??” When did they stop teaching multiplication tables in school? 9 x 4 = 36 but that’s not the whole story. A pregnancy is generally considered to last 40 weeks counting from the first day of the last period so technically 10 months. Really it’s 38 weeks, 9.5 months, of actual gestation but plenty of babies are born before or even after that 40 week mark.

It is normally a 40 week term. However it can go two weeks either way around the due date.

Usually 37- 42 weeks. But the due date is usually placed on 10th month (40 weeks) but you can go any where from giving birth at 24 weeks (hope no one has to deal with that!) to waiting up till 44 weeks (so i've read). Because some women do not want to be induced.

Answer 8
It's 40 weeks. It doesn't actually add up to 9 months. Don't look at it like that coz it will confuse you. You count week by week how far along the pregnancy you are.

There are many ways of calculating when a baby will be born. Most of the methods are rough approximations only because of the difficulty pinpointing the date of conception and factors that may affect the birth. The average number of days for a pregnancy is 266 days. Not many people think of themselves as average however and babies certainly come earlier or later. Below is a due date calculator you can use that also mentions the various way of narrowing down the date a baby is likely to be born (without early intervention).
